Laurie Simpson

Connect Architecture

Connect Architecture provides architecture, interior design and master planning services, and is a nationally certified, woman-owned firm. We believe the built environment should reflect the diversity and spirit of its people, and we strive to make places that are sustainable and meaningful to the communities we serve. Our studio environment contributes to a hands-on, personal approach where all collaborators come to the table early and stick together as we work hard to design (and build) timeless buildings and places that inspire and endure. My husband and I have had the privilege and pleasure to work with Nikki and Christy to bring this incredible dream to reality – in our 30 years in practice, The Vales has been one of the most exciting and innovative projects we have had the honor to design.

Stacy Self

Superintendent

Stacy Self, owner of Self Family Builders, began his career in construction by packing lumber and pounding nails at the age of fourteen. For the next three decades, Stacy expanded his knowledge of the industry through hands-on experience. That trend continues today as Stacy leads while serving. Whether he’s pouring thousands of feet of concrete for a multilevel structure downtown Portland, prepping the ground for a high school football field, laying the foundation for the Vancouver Community Library, or constructing columbaria at Willamette National Cemetery, Stacy prefers to have his boots on the ground, working alongside his crew to ensure a job well done.

As a member of the Vancouver community for over forty years, Stacy lends his heart to the construction of people, as well. He could often be found coaching his daughter’s sports teams when she was a youngster. He enjoys cycling to raise money for the American Lung Association and the National MS Society. On his time off he loves adventuring the Pacific Northwest, often stealing away with his family to dig for clams along the salty shores of Long Beach, Washington, wakeboard over the crisp waters of Lake Merwin, or hike the trails of Mount St. Helens.
